I created this site with inspiration from my online, "Psychology of Play" class.  I became inspired by an activity that got me in touch with how I could incorporate my many ideas into a concrete program to increase my happiness.  I learned that, "Happiness shared is happiness squared."  Ultimately, I am hoping to inspire others with the things that I have learned.  I have created these art classes in order to bring play back into the classroom and back into our lives.  Doing art is a great way to play. Art is a learning tool and provides many healthy functions whether we are artists or not.

Art makes learning real and fun.  Art is a way to stimulate our imaginations.  Our imaginations are so important to our happiness especially our long lasting happiness. By using our imagination we can visualize the life that will give us lasting happiness and meaning.

Another part of the happiness quest assignment involved sending someone an appreciative email. I posted an appreciative statement on my sister's face book wall so that everyone would also know how much I appreciate her.  I also wrote her a letter of gratitude for many kind things she has done for me and it was a tear jerker.

Another great happening was being able to work at my job with KidzKount.  It is a work I enjoy; I appreciate being able to get my "duckies in a row" by working and doing a job that engages me.
Moon Magic   - Another part of my gratitude list was how much I appreciate the moon.  This was a photo of a super moon that I took last summer some time.  Taking photos of the moon rise is also a mood lifter and a sight that inspires even more nature appreciation.  There is no doubt that nature is a huge part of my daily gratitude journal.

Doing random acts of kindness for a stranger cheers me up and is a good remedy.  I picked up a ski resort employee from Brazil who had missed the bus and was late.  When we got to his job he told me in what English he could speak that I, "saved his life".  That made me feel

better about my self, that day, and my life and it was a kind yet simple act.

GRATITUDE
JOURNAL

I kept a gratitude journal and recorded 3 things in 2 separate days that happened that were positive. I felt so much better because it shifted my focus from the negative.  I also realized the positives were more valid than the negatives.

SUNRISE

One of the positives that happened was the chance to catch and photo this awesome sunrise.  Seeing a sunrise like this makes me appreciate nature and all of its magic shows.
